Recreation abounds in the Warden area.  We have many area activities and attractions with local resorts for camping such as the Sage Hills Golf Club & RV Resort and the Warden Lake Resort. 

There are also a variety of water based activities to offer with the many lakes surrounding the area.  One of the many water areas available is Potholes State Park on the Potholes Reservoir and Mardon Resort on the Potholes Reservoir.  

Civic groups of Warden have sponsored a Demo Car Derby in the past and are currently working on setting up a new location for this annual event.  Nearby communities of Othello, Moses Lake and Lind also hold Demo Car Derbys.

Warden Museum

Our city museum is a prominent building located at 202 West Second Street.  The museum grounds include a large paved parking area with a grassy area with shade trees.  Also on display on the Museum grounds is a Milwaukee Railroad retired train car. 

In 1977 , the Warden Historical Society purchased the Warden Depot from the Milwaukee Railroad.  The purchase price was $1.00.  The Depot was built in 1910.  The depot has been moved from the railroad side to its present location and converted to a museum.  In the early 90’s the city pledged funds along with State of Washington “Transportation Grant Funds” to renovate and prevent further deterioration. 

Currently the museum does not have regularly scheduled hours of operation.  The city helps to accommodate requested tours and during Warden Community Days, the museum is open for viewing.

Warden also hosts a Columbia Basin Demo Car Series.  The “Columbia Basin Demo Car Series”, is being sponsored by the organizations that provide you with the Lind, Othello, and Warden demolition derbies. If you have any questions, please contact Shawn Clausen, (509) 750-9822.

John Wayne Pioneer Trail: Warden to Lind

Wheat fields and desert scablands greet riders as they ride into this section of the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. Be prepared with food, water, and shelter, because once you leave Warden, you won’t find services, bathrooms, or water until you reach Lind.

Warden Senior and Community Center 

Located at 115 No. Oak Ave, this facility is used by civic groups and other organizations for meetings and events.  Often rented by community members; this is a great place to hold your family gathering, graduation party or quinceira. 

The Warden Seniors, a group of mature aged adults spend two afternoons per week having lunch and playing cards.
